From its pointy red roof to its pretty porch
railings and the Spanish moss dripping from
the trees, the fairy-tale cottage seemed the
perfect place for a young couple to start
married life. “It’s totally enchanted,” says Linn
Gresham, “almost like you’d expect a magical
old woman who talks to the birds to live here.”
When Linn and her husband, Glen
Zittrouer, purchased the 200-year-old
Savannah, Georgia, bungalow three years ago,
it needed lots of love. But the couple saw a
chance to put her design talent and his
carpentry skills to good use—and save money—
while fixing up their first home.
